25+ years of dermatology experience and surgery.

CEUs will be offered, TBD final number. The Basic Core Curriculum registrants can convert to the Dermatology Certificate Program within the year. Money spent will be deducted from the Certificate program total fees.

Instruments are provided, but it is highly recommended to bring your own if you have them. Continental breakfast is included.

12:45-2:45pm Suturing Workshop: Simple interrupted, Vertical and horizontal mattress, Sub Q stitches (lecture and hands on). 
3pm-5pm Basic Dermatology Procedures Workshop: Shave, punch and saucerization biopsies, cryo, and EDC. (lecture and hand on).

The Scene of the Crime: Basic Skin Anatomy 8:30am-9:30am 
An overview of basic skin anatomy and function of layers, structures, and appendages……the scene of the crime!

The Line Up: Describing the Suspects 9:30am-10:30am
This session will help you understand primary and secondary morphology for benign lesions, skin cancer, and dermatoses. Instruction on how to approach and apply these terms to describe “the suspects”.

Break 10:30-10:45

The Suspects: Common Criminals and Death Row Inmates 10:45am-11:45am
An overview of commonly found benign lesions, dermatoses, and skin cancers found in a skin examination.

Lunch 11:45am-12:45pm

Working the Scene: Line of Questioning, Common Diagnostic Tests, Procedures, and Pathology 12:45pm-2:00pm 
A discussion on diagnostic tests, procedures, and basics of specimen preparation needed to determine or confirm your diagnosis. This includes preparation for procedures like consent, local anesthesia, hemostasis, and wound healing.

Punishment that Fits the Crime: First Time and Repeat Offenders 2:00pm-3:00pm 
This session will discuss current treatment options of skin cancer and common dermatoses. In addition, an overview on managing these rashes when they become difficult to treat.
